Mary of the Month (June 2012)
This month’s image is a painting on canvas of one of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima. She was accompanied by lighting, and seemed to come from the sky and return there at the end of the apparition. Mary stood on top of a little tree when she talked to the three shepherds, but the leaves were not bent from her weight. What the children later described was that Our Lady not only radiated light, but she appeared to be made entirely of very pure light.
Here is one of the message of Our Lady of Fatima. She asked the three children, “Are you willing to offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and in supplication for the conversion of sinners?” When the children said yes, Mary replied: “Then you are going to have much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort.”
