Our Faith often gets treated like fine china. But faith is more like heirloom tomatoes. You inherit the seeds but you must water them. If you care for your faith, it will give off many seeds for others. Faith is meant to be shared. [AUDIO]
In Part 1 I wrote, “If you want your life to be the best it can be, you must follow the religion that has the most truth.” You Have to Sift for Truth If you want to be a good scientist, you have to be willing to test answers and discard the ones that turn out to be false. The …
I will save you the trouble of reading the whole article: the right answer is the Catholic Church. What were you expecting from a Catholic priest? But please don’t take my word for it. This isn’t an answer you just Google, take the first article that pops up, and consider yourself done. You have to do your own work. Keep …
This week the Christians in Mosul were forced to leave their homes. They were given the choice of converting to Islam, paying a punitive protection tax, or being killed. They chose to leave, and as they were leaving the city they were robbed of their money and possessions. But they triumphed, because they escaped with the pearl of great price, which is their faith.
This week, Meriam Ibrahim was allowed to leave Sudan. She was even able to meet with the Pope. It is a sign that if you hold on tightly to your faith, God will make everything else work out.

What connects Mass and the Resurrection? The Body and Blood of Christ present at Mass. Don’t come to Mass for what you can get, but come to give. When you give your heart, Jesus gives you his. We believe the Eucharist is Jesus’ Body and Blood because Jesus said so, and sometimes there are miracles that help our faith. Jesus gives us the Eucharist so we can be in communion with him. Live your Communion every day.
Charities like Feed my Starving Children depend on Providence. I felt the hand of Providence on retreat once. Too often we really trust in Money. Trust God instead. He will provide everything you truly need, even a backpack.
The Feast of the Presentation reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world. We have been given our faith at baptism, but our faith is a living thing and it needs to grow. Like other living things, faith needs food, water, and shelter. The food that our faith needs is the Word of God and Holy Communion. The water that our faith needs is prayer. The shelter that our faith needs is the Church.
The darkness of human existence can leave us SAD. Our life is a path towards God and Faith illuminates that path. Mary can help us start glowing with the Light of Christ. Follow the light of Faith and every day will be one step closer to Eternity.
The Sacred Heart shows us how Jesus’ heart burns with love for us. When we are baptized, our hearts are lit with the light of faith. When we pray, and go to church, and do good things, the flame of faith in our hearts grows bigger. When we don’t pray, and don’t go to church, the faith in our hearts gets smaller. We need to keep our faith burning brightly and light others with the light of faith.
