The Lord of the house lived in luxury; the servants lived simple lives. But Jesus, the true Lord, chooses to serve. He invites us to do the same. A husband washes the feet of his wife and family when he uses his authority to serve them. Let the Lord serve you that you might serve others.
Jesus enters Jerusalem as the triumphal Messiah and true King of a kingdom of love and peace. But the kingdoms of the world dominate and destroy Him. Peter discovers that Jesus’ kingdom is the one that truly lasts, but we can only enter it by taking up our crosses. Will you deny Him, or will you follow Him through death to the Resurrection? The Church is about conversion, a change of heart, and repentance. Repentance starts by remembering that you are going to die. We will each stand before Almighty God and answer God’s questions: What have you done with the amazing life I gave you? Now is the time to start preparing for that moment.
